My Target Audience

Primary Audience: 
                             Wedding fashion magazines are usually seen by almost everyone but my primary audience would be the brides who'd be searching for ideas related to their wedding theme. They would sneak into the magazines and would maybe share or pass them onto their friends who'd need suggestions. They would probably be from the age group of 20-27, moreover, most of them would be women but a male could also look for ideas. Some of them would be the ones who appreciates the values as well as flaunt things, kind of materialistic people looking for some glamour.  

Secondary Audience:
                                  They are those who'd be finding ideas for someone else and this would include mothers looking for some charm and fascination for their daughters. They would be buying and exploring for the best designs that would fit their expectations. These women would be from an older age group finding objectives for a family wedding or for their children's wedding but in either case, wedding fashion magazine would never disappoint them. 

Target Market/Audience

Target Market is a certain area or a region where consumers, suspects and prospects would visit to buy a particular product which they need whereas Target Audience are a group of people who are aimed for the products in the Target market segregated by different gender, family, religion etc.

Market Segmentation is dividing a large group of buyers into smaller groups on the origin of what they need or require, depending on their taste of interests. 

There are some examples of it :

•  Demographic (age, gender, religion etc)
•  Geographic    (region, country etc)
•  Psychographic (lifestyle,values,opinions etc)
•  Behavioural   (occasion, user status, brand loyalty etc)

My Magazine's Genre

Hey friends, so now that we have learnt all the core things of designing a magazine, it's time to make our own magazine. We have to design the cover, content and double spread page of our magazine by taking shots on our own based on certain types of genre.

WEDDING FASHION is the one i selected for my magazine as they take place almost every month and there's a lot to write and gather information on them. Moreover, weddings are kind of interesting too which attracts a large number of people whether they are kids, female and sometimes males too depending on their taste. I'd have to take some bridal shots and paste them in my magazine and much more would be there which will inspire you all. I hope to make everything look striking. 

Genre

Genre is a way of making a text appear in different styles. There are certain elements called paradigms which identifies the genre and by reading them people bring a set of expectations to their reading. Genre is a specific type of movie, film and writing. It is fundamental for both the reader and the creator. It helps the producers and the viewers to decide what they are willing to see and what is in demand like the requests from the audience.

Audience are the viewers or the readers who decide what kind or type of movie, book or tv-serial they want to watch or read and to make that easier it is usually arranged alphabetically and provide a wide range of genres for them example romance, sci-fi etc. Audience already predicts what will happen next according to the genre which keeps them interested and extremely focused. Some genres leaves an impact on the audience and then they may shape themselves in that specific way due to which these people are specified as there fans.

Producers market texts according to genre. There are some conventions for example if there is blood or horror noises in a movie, then the viewer expects that certain movie to be horror or if it's a teenage high school movie featuring romance, the audience will instantly guess what will happen at the end, so this kind of convention is known as Conventions of Verisimilitude. This is how the producer keeps audience interested and make money out of it.

Genre is a great way of helping define different methods of communicating to the audience and provides guidelines as well as shorthand for producers. A genre is defined and then re-defined which allows the target audience to have many different and varying products even within a genre

4. The margins are important while making a magazine cover or content page as it centralizes everything, you can press ctrl+R and get the scale for margins

Magazine's Rough Draft

Hey people! So I'm here again updating you guys about an exciting activity which we recently did. It was about designing a magazine cover and by that I mean we did a rough draft on it as shown in the picture. We learnt the adjustment or placement of everything eg; the MastHead, Puff etc. Moreover, we were also corrected that date is in extremely small font usually right under the MastHead or in the header of the page. The bar code is always placed at the bottom or in the footer of the page and also that everything should be in the margin of the page. These are some important tips which we got to know. Hope it helped you guys too.

Judging a Magazine Cover

Hey pals, so i'll update you guys about what we are recently doing in our media class. So we are learning how to judge a magazine cover and how to evaluate every single thing which is shown. We have to go deep into the meaning of the stuff shown on the cover and then to join the dots by ourselves, so i am given this magazine and i have to dive into it. The first thing i see here are 4 insanely excited girls screaming about something and immediately i see a title on the top which says 'Las Vegas' which is all about gambling, casinos and bars so maybe these girls won a lottery due to which they are this much surprised and glowing, also the funky makeup and the colourful dressing shows how lively they are along with the hairstyles which means that they all are geared up for a party or something. The cheerful girls and the pink background of the cover is targeting a specific audience which is mainly teenage girls.

Media is a whole new world we are exploring into and right now we are taking baby steps towards it. I'll give you a brief setup about media which includes:

• Cover, contents and double-page spread  of a new magazine
• Evidence of your work in form of a video or notes is COMPULSORY
• Minimum 4 pictures 
• If we are doing in a group then each member is asked to provide his/her work individually
• All the images must be original 
• Research A LOT
• Engage with media products
• Planning
• Draw drafts of your production
• Use established forms to produce a recognisable piece of media
• Produce an appropriate product to target the audience 
• Appropriate use of vocabulary
• Explore various technologies in editing
• Elaborate your experience online 
• Submit

Hey Pals!

 My name is Nashwa Waqar and i've recently started A1. At first i was kind of nervous but when it officially started, i was all okay and fine. I was confused about my subjects but now finally i am sure of them, i chose media, business and urdu. Media has always been my first priority and i'm so determined towards it as i'll be doing journalism and pursuing media in future and trust me, media is a very interesting yet time investing subject.

I used to do my school plays and recently i worked with Independent Theater of Pakistan and did my annual play which gained massive success as i was the lead and everyone came to know me and trust me, when someone comes up to you and praises you, that feeling is undescribeable. Anyways, there's a lot to explore, so i'll put a period here and we’ll continue later.
