Double Spread

                                           Designing of  Double Spread

Atlast, we had to design our double spread page and for that we once again opened photoshop but this time our width was 17 but height was the same.

Again by pressing Ctrl+R, we got our gridlines and here I added two more gridlines other than the necessary ones to divide the portions.

After this, I continued by typing the title and its description. The font was "Adobe Gurmukhi" but I changed the colors to create variation.

I also inserted some shapes by choosing Custom Shape Tool to make the description emerging.

Then, the picture was put in by clicking Ctrl+O which helps us to open a new file.

By following the same method as described earlier, I inserted my Designer's picture.

Next step was to type in the article which I did in the same "Adobe Gurmukhi" golden color font and wrapped it with my designer's picture as it was all about her and kept gutter space between the paragraphs. I also begin my paragraph with a Drop Cap.

Once more by choosing shapes tool, I prepended a rectangular box and inside it, I typed a quote and placed it underneath the main paragraph.

Below the box, I added a sentence about the cloth by using "Imprint Mt Shadow" font to make it look eminent and added a rectangle box but edited it into a thick line to catch the eye of the reader.

Here I placed my last picture of this page.

For the very last time, I again clicked on the Custom Shape Tool and selected this shape for my page number and placed it on the top left header of my page.

Picture Credits which is the anchoring line was written using "Juice Itc" font in a vertical manner.

And then I typed in the date at the bottom right corner of the page. Date was in months as it is a monthly magazine and kept the font small.

Lastly, here is my final look of Double Spread Page and I am honestly loving it because a lot of time and hard work was put to design this.

Magazine's Content Page

                                                Designing of the Content Page

The next task was to complete the Content Page after getting done with the cover, so here we again opened Photoshop to design our next assignment. The height and width were kept the same as it was earlier.

The next step were the gridlines which emerged by pressing Ctrl+R and here I added one more in the middle to segregate the contents and other texts.

Font chosen for the title was "Candy Shop" which kind of looked engaging and alluring.

Here, I added a rectangle under the contents title and chose "Century School" font for all of these contents.

To make the all the fonts and its size same, we duplicated the group which made editing easier and also saved time.

After this, we added a picture in our canvas and transformed it through Ctrl+T.

Special Features was also underlined with a rectangular box and I again kept the font same for all special features along with duplicating the first layer.

Once, I was done with this, I through the help of shapes tool added rectangle for my editor's note.

Adding picture here wasn't necessary but I still concluded to make the note look good.

And in the end came the editor's note for which I kept the font size 14 and chose "Century School" again as my font.

Here's a picture of me working with passion to nail my content page .

And finally, my content page is displayed right in front of you. I think my content page has every element mostly seen in other content pages and everything is also aligned properly. I added my picture in the editor's note to make it more interactive.

Magazine's cover page

                                            Designing of the Cover Page

So after the mockups, we finally started working on our magazine's cover page and for that we opened photoshop to begin with our designing.

Through pressing Ctrl+R, we get the margins or gridlines for our page.

Ctrl+O helps us to get a new file opened of our choice which we later minimize using Ctrl+T  and set in our canvas as shown below.

Through selecting your text, you get to choose the font and it's size. Here, I chose Algerian font for my title with pink to make it more prominent and attractive.

After getting done with the title, I selected Times New Roman font for my 3 cover lines and kept different sizes for each cover line

Now, the main cover line appears. "Monotype Corsiva" font was chosen after a great struggle for the cover line and fortunately it also went with the background.

Moreover, I added elipse tool to my cover through this and added some text in it.

At last, the barcode was inserted which was the final element of my cover.

This is a picture of me designing my Magazine's cover

And after all the touchups, here comes the Final Cover Page of my magazine and according to me, I think I performed well except for the title which I should have placed behind the main cover image.

Cover mockup

I used two of my selected pictures for my magazine's cover page but I would be choosing picture 1 as this is a full shot where my model's dress is fully visible along with the background. The representation of my genre is fully elaborated here like the jewellery, makeup, the outfit, greenery in the background and the major Desi Wedding factor "GAINDAS" are very evident. Facial expressions of my model here are exquisite and engaging with the whole theme. She looks decorative too which may attract the buyers. The light is also gloomy as this shoot was done at afternoon.

Shoot Analysis

These are few of the pictures I am selecting for my magazine.

My models here are giving natural looks along with keeping their posture straight. Also, the headroom in these pictures isn't much and the pictures are captured keeping everything balanced. The background setup is visible and the expressions are on point.

I took some of the side poses too as they look striking and also making the jewellery prominent here.

I selected this as my model's full dress is displayed here along with the beautiful yellow Gaindas making this picture very attractive.

Now I am going to post the rejected ones.

My model looks exhausted and tired here and her body looks stiff. The expressions are unsatisfactory and not up to the mark.

Here my model's eyes are closed and one of them is blocked by her hair making this picture look unpleasant and not addable in my magazine.

These two pictures are covering a lot of headroom which looks disagreeable to add in my magazine.

This picture seems a little blur that's why I eliminated it.
