Judging a Magazine Cover

Hey pals, so i'll update you guys about what we are recently doing in our media class. So we are learning how to judge a magazine cover and how to evaluate every single thing which is shown. We have to go deep into the meaning of the stuff shown on the cover and then to join the dots by ourselves, so i am given this magazine and i have to dive into it. The first thing i see here are 4 insanely excited girls screaming about something and immediately i see a title on the top which says 'Las Vegas' which is all about gambling, casinos and bars so maybe these girls won a lottery due to which they are this much surprised and glowing, also the funky makeup and the colourful dressing shows how lively they are along with the hairstyles which means that they all are geared up for a party or something. The cheerful girls and the pink background of the cover is targeting a specific audience which is mainly teenage girls.

Media is a whole new world we are exploring into and right now we are taking baby steps towards it. I'll give you a brief setup about media which includes:

• Cover, contents and double-page spread  of a new magazine
• Evidence of your work in form of a video or notes is COMPULSORY
• Minimum 4 pictures 
• If we are doing in a group then each member is asked to provide his/her work individually
• All the images must be original 
• Research A LOT
• Engage with media products
• Planning
• Draw drafts of your production
• Use established forms to produce a recognisable piece of media
• Produce an appropriate product to target the audience 
• Appropriate use of vocabulary
• Explore various technologies in editing
• Elaborate your experience online 
• Submit

Hey Pals!

 My name is Nashwa Waqar and i've recently started A1. At first i was kind of nervous but when it officially started, i was all okay and fine. I was confused about my subjects but now finally i am sure of them, i chose media, business and urdu. Media has always been my first priority and i'm so determined towards it as i'll be doing journalism and pursuing media in future and trust me, media is a very interesting yet time investing subject.

I used to do my school plays and recently i worked with Independent Theater of Pakistan and did my annual play which gained massive success as i was the lead and everyone came to know me and trust me, when someone comes up to you and praises you, that feeling is undescribeable. Anyways, there's a lot to explore, so i'll put a period here and we’ll continue later.
